As we continue to grow, GIGA is transitioning from an ambitious scale-up into a professional multi-asset battery energy storage operator. With projects such as our 300 MW project 'Leopard' in Delfzijl and a rapidly expanding portfolio, technology and data are becoming increasingly critical to our success. To support this growth, we are strengthening our IT organization. That is why we are looking for an experienced IT transition manager who can help shape the future of IT at GIGA and build a scalable foundation for the years ahead. What the role involves As Interim IT transition manager, you will play a key role in professionalizing and structuring the IT function at GIGA Storage. This role combines strategic leadership with a hands-on approach. You will define the long-term IT direction while also helping the organization implement the practical structures and processes needed to support continued growth. You will act as a mentor and sparring partner to the CIO, helping strengthen strategic planning, prioritisation and reporting towards the management team. A central part of your assignment is to develop a clear multi-year IT vision aligned with GIGA’s growth ambitions. You will assess the current IT landscape, define which systems and capabilities should be developed internally versus sourced externally, and translate this into a practical roadmap. The idea is that the CIO would be responsible for the execution of said after the conclusion of this contract. You will also work closely with the Operations team to understand their tooling needs and translate these into scalable IT solutions. This may include pre-selecting systems such as maintenance management tooling, defining office IT processes and setting up the right governance structure for IT decision making. This interim assignment is expected to run for approximately 6 to 9 months and requires a commitment of 3 days per week.
Your responsibilities
Define the long-term IT strategy/ Roadmap
Develop a clear five-year IT vision aligned with GIGA’s business strategy and growth plans, including architecture direction and build versus buy decisions.
Scalable IT organization
Design a scalable IT operating model, define required roles and capabilities, and create a clear structure for resource planning and delivery.
From strategy to execution
Translate strategy into annual plans, priorities, and KPIs while establishing structured reporting and transparency for the management team.
Lead strategic IT projects
Work closely with operations and leadership to assess tooling needs, lead and participate in RFP processes and provide a structure to guide the implementation of those key systems. Example projects are: Top level SCADA system, billing- and MMS tools etc. Your profile
12+ years of experience in IT, including at least 7+ years in leadership roles such as Head of IT, IT Manager, IT Director or CIO
Proven experience building or professionalizing an IT function in a growing / scaling organization
Strong experience with IT strategy development, organizational design and complex IT projects
Hands-on mindset combined with strong strategic thinking
Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to coach and develop other leaders
A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
